How to Play Guess the Image

Guess the Image is a free online guessing game: each round hides a picture and you try to name it in as few clues as possible. It works in any browser on desktop or mobile — no download, no sign-up.

The basic rules

A picture appears partly hidden. Type your best guess in the box and press Guess. Stuck? Tap "Reveal clue" to uncover more of the image and get a written hint — but each clue lowers your score. The faster you answer and the fewer clues you use, the more points you earn.

The 6 reveal modes

• Blur — the image starts blurred and sharpens with each clue.
• Zoom — starts zoomed right in, then zooms out.
• Pixel — starts as chunky pixels that get finer.
• Mosaic — tiles cover the picture and clear a few at a time.
• AI Clues — the image is hidden; guess purely from written clues.
• Caption — read a short description and guess what it depicts.

Categories

Guess famous landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal), country flags, country map outlines, world cities by their skylines, science & space subjects, and a big famous personalities quiz — scientists, artists, leaders, musicians and sporting legends. Scoring, levels and the Final Round

You start each round with the maximum points and lose a little for every clue, so guessing early pays off. A speed bonus rewards fast answers. Clear four rounds to advance a level, get through Warm-up, Sharp Eye and Expert, then take on the five-question Final Round of the hardest subjects. Win it to earn a personalized certificate and a spot on the leaderboard.

Tips to score higher

• Guess as early as you dare — clues cost points.
• Answers are forgiving of spelling and spacing (so "tajmahal" works).
• For people, a surname is usually enough ("Einstein", "Newton").
• Don't like a picture? Tap "New pic" for a different image of the same answer.
